THE BRIDGE OF STALHILLE

The new bridge of Stalhille is a modern bridge, constructed with two main steel girders and four steel masts. This original choice makes that the deck isn’t placed above but below the main beams. Therefore the beams form the parapet of the bridge. The bridge weighs about 20 tons, each of the four counterweights weighs about 4.6 tons. The bridge spans 26 meters wide and 3 meters wide. The construction of the bridge needed about 40 tons of steel, and the counterweights more than 15 tons of cast iron. The new bridge (Stalhillebrug) opened to public on June 14th, 2008.
